I'm so sick and tired of dealing with awful nails and cuticles lately- the condition of mine have been dry and uncomfortably sore. What is even worse is that my cuticles are dry to the point of peeling- yuck! At work I stumbled across the
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and had a quick try of the tester available and fell in love! I didn't buy it instantly but I did go home and did a little search online about this cuticle cream. Having won Beautyheaven's
Best Nail Treatment in its
Best in Beauty Awards 2012, and having many 5 star reviews to boast about, I knew that this little tin of lemon butter cream would be worth every cent of the $14.95 I paid.
|
Waxy consistency |
Presented in a small vintage styled tin, its simple packaging is attractive and easy to use. I was greeted with a "lemon butter" fragrance as I opened it which reminded me of lemon cheesecake, which was quite refreshing! Despite being called a "cream", the product inside is quite firm and waxy, similar to a balm.
The
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is described as an intensive, natural treatment to nourish and moisturise the nails and cuticles, with a touch of lemon oil to make the nails smell incredible clean, healthy and beautiful. Vitamin E and rosemary leaf oil are to help condition the skin and assist with its repair while beeswax helps to seal in moisture, protecting the cuticles and nails from drying out. Sounds exactly like what I need!

100% natural, no animal testing and certified natural! |
I've never had a good experience with a cuticle cream before- the only time I have used one was in a cheap nail kit I received as a Christmas gift some five or so years ago. It was a cream, and the scent was just overpowering and smelled of powder which was not pleasant! Needless to say I never used it again (it didn't even help with my cuticles). However the
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is a different story. Non-greasy, absorbs instantly into the skin and does exactly what it claims it does! Just the right amount of product is picked up after swiping the waxy product with my index finger, and is lovely to apply- not much is needed as it is quite concentrated. The discomfort I had with my peeling cuticles was relieved- I couldn't even achieve this with a very thick hand cream! Just after one day of applying this cuticle cream, my cuticles and surrounding nail bed have never looked and felt better! Here is a before and after shot after just one application of the cuticle cream (please excuse the awkwardness of my hand):
You can definitely see a difference, even after just one application! I am very happy with this purchase (I seem to be quite happy with my recent purchases as of yet which is good) and have to say, I didn't really expect much from this humble tin of lemon butteriness. It has been very enjoyable to apply and the refreshing lemon scent doesn't hurt either and my cuticles are in a much better condition now!
Have you tried the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream before? How about other cuticle/nail creams?
Love this. It's one of the first beauty products I've tried and still to this day a great product.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing, does what it claims and so nourishing for the cuticles!
DeleteI love lemon scented things :) ... you can also try putting lip balm on your cuticles, it almost works the same :)
ReplyDeletep.s. love your new header! :D
DeleteOoh I haven't thought of that, the consistency is slightly similar to lip balm! I just love this Burt's Bees cuticle cream because it doesn't feel greasy at all and is instantly absorbed :)
Deleteyour nails look so healthy!
ReplyDeleteim really slack with my nails but this seems like a good product to purchase :)
will check this out when go into priceline or something

I've been so slack with my nails too but lately they had been splitting and peeling all the time so I had to do something about them! I used a nail hardener to get them going again and now this cuticle cream :)
Deletethanks for the review! i know what to use if i ever get dry cuticles again :)
ReplyDeleteand the fact that its lemon is so cool, i have a thing for lemons xD
http://oliviiaaaaa.blogspot.com.au/
The lemon scent is so refreshing in this cuticle cream! :)
DeleteMy sister recommended this to me. She told me it will help nails grow stronger and it really worked on her because she managed to grow nails twice as long as her nail bed and people were asking if her nails were real or fake. I was like, if only fake ones looked that good lol. I have a pot of this but I keep forgetting about it, maybe in winter I'll start using it again. They usually have this cream in a pack of other things that make it a better deal especially when they have sales.
ReplyDeleteHaha fake nails look so bad unless you get the really good ones! This is amazing stuff, definitely worth it and the smell is great too :)
Deleteohhh, this seems nice! I want to try it too ^_~
ReplyDeleteI love everything Burts Bees! My nails are so pathetic, I need to get them in shape and I'm currently trying to grow them out. This will probably definitely be worth purchasing for myself. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeletekatiechamel.blogspot.com
I love how Burts Bees is all natural and the packaging is nice! This cuticle cream will be a great product for nourishing the nails and cuticles :)
Deleteooo i want to try this now! I've never tried anything from the burts bees range, I'm excited to try it now
ReplyDeletexx
http://anoddgirl.blogspot.com.au
This cuticle cream is definitely worth a try :)
Deleteoh wow I think I need this one!! my cuticles have been really dry and chappy :// I love burts bees lip balms as well, i think i really should get this one :)
ReplyDeleteThis product is amazing for dry cuticles and is a pleasure to use :) I have a Burts Bees lip balm too which I love the scent of!
DeleteI've heard so much about this everywhere! My nails have been so dry and week lately so I may have to try this out. I'm tempted to purchase this due to the smell, I absolutely love the smell of anything lemony! :D
ReplyDeleteYou will definitely love this then, the lemon scent is so yummy! It moisturises the cuticles without feeling greasy which is great :)
DeleteYour hands look small!
ReplyDeleteNice blog by the way.
I had always eyed this when I went to the store, but I feel like I have to pick it up now! Great review! And your nails look super healthy! ^__^
ReplyDeleteMy nails keep breaking though because I keep hitting them on hard surfaces :( Thank you! Give this a try :)
DeleteYour nails look really healthy and strong x
ReplyDeletecheck out my cath kidston giveaway 1stepclosereveryday.blogspot.co.uk
I used my China Glaze nail strengthener so it has helped a bit in making them stronger! The cuticle cream has helped too :) And thank you!
DeleteYour cuticles don't look too bad in the pictures though! For a majority of my life I've had this fear of pushing my cuticles back or even touching them, and I've only started getting over it, so I think a cream like this would help! Could you use this as a hand cream also?
ReplyDeleteI don't think you can use this as a hand cream because it is much too waxy and concentrated! It would take a while swiping your finger over the product to get enough to cover your hands- but with that being said, with some perseverance you could probably use it as a hand cream :)
DeleteOh really, it's that thick? Well I guess that makes sense that they'd put it in a tin (rather than a tube) then!
DeleteThis sounds soo nice! And it would be amazing as a lip balm if it does that for your cuticles. It sounds very similar to Lush's lemony flutter cuticle cream which I am contemplating buying also. My cuticles are in good condition but this sounds nice to use anyway :D xx
ReplyDeleteIt is very nice to use! Love the scent and it just feels so nice on the cuticles :) I haven't seen Lush's cuticle creams before but I might check it out now!
DeleteI need this it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove Burt's Bees!
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
Great review, thanks! I'm looking for it at ebay now :)
ReplyDeletewww.tlnique.blogspot.com
Hopefully ebay does have it for a good price! :)
DeleteLooks like it works really well! I can definitely see the difference between your before and after pictures. I have always wanted to try this product (along with Lemony Flutter from Lush) but have yet to sample either :p
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Lemony Flutter from Lush before nor even heard of it! I would love to sample it and compare it to this Burt's Bees cuticle cream :)
