Skincare SOS

Winter has been wreaking havoc on my skin, causing it to be dehydrated, red and sensitive. I have found a combination of a few certain products have always ensured my skin stayed its best in the cooler months without flaring up, with most being in my holy grail of skincare.

First off, I absolutely love using the Sanctuary Spa Ultimate Facial Cleansing Oil for removing my makeup as it removes every single trace with no residue at all. It is very gentle yet deeply cleanses the skin from all dirt and stubborn makeup without irritating the skin. Next I use the Bioderma Sensibio H20 as a toner to prepare my skin for moisturising, and to pick up anything that the cleansing oil may have missed.

I love spritzing my face with the La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water (which I interchange with the Avene Thermal Spring Water) after cleansing to further soothe my skin and really, just because it feels refreshing! The slight dampness of my skin ensures that the Trilogy Rosehip Oil  (I also use the Antioxidant+ version) is applied more easily. Rosehip oil does wonders for the skin; it hydrates with omega 3, 6 and 9 and evens out the skintone. It is an utter necessity for my skincare routine! Lastly I slather on some La Roche-Posay Toleraine Soothing Protective Skincare which is perfect for skin which feels tight and intolerant, especially in this weather. This moisturiser is very basic as it limits the amount of ingredients to avoid allergy risks, and is fragrance-free, preservative-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic. Usually I would use a thicker moisturiser, or one packed with more capabilities but when my skin is suffering, I like to stick to the safe options to allow it to return to normal.

Have you used any of these products before? What skincare products do you turn to in a skin SOS?

  1. Thermal water spray is a much in my skincare routines. My favorite is from Avene, but I've enjoyed the one from LRP as well. It is something you end up missing if you don't have one around. ;)

  2. I'm using quite often Avene's products. But need to find more efficient creams for my hands and feets. They are so dry.

    1. When I first tried the Sanctuary cleansing oil I didn't know what to expect- I bought it as a cheap alternative to the Shu Uemura cleansing oils! I love it, it removes the most stubborn makeup and since it's constantly on special, it's worth a try!

  17. Thanks for sharing your review that is well written. skin care is very important for healthy skin. Specially in winter, skin becomes dry and break out causing skin damage. In winter, the most damaging part of the body's face as it is directly affected by weather and gets dry.
You need to add the best serum for dry skin in your skincare routine and apply it according to the prescription. It will rehydrate skin for a plumper appearance and will minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and hyper-pigmentation.

  18. Thanks for sharing your well-written blog review. Skincare is crucial for maintaining healthy skin, especially during the winter when the skin tends to become dry and break out. I've faced issues with dry skin before and have tried numerous skincare products, but what has worked best for me is The Juice Beauty. They have the best cleanser for dry skin, and it's truly amazing
